Privacy Notice

This notice describes the information Washington County Released Inmates receives, how that information supports the site, and the limited situations in which another party may receive it. The terms cover searches sent to outside providers, messages sent directly to us, routine technical data, and cookies. They also explain security limits and visitor choices. By using the site, you accept the practices described here. When a link opens an official Mississippi agency, corrections portal, or another outside service, that destination applies its own privacy terms.

Information You Send

Terms Entered in Search Tools

A name, place, or other term entered in a search tool is transmitted to the third-party provider that operates the search. Washington County Released Inmates does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider may process the request under its privacy policy, so review that policy before submitting information.

Email and Contact Messages

If you email us or submit a contact message, we retain the message and the contact details supplied with it so we can read and answer the request. We do not share the message outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law. Avoid placing sensitive identifiers in a general message when they are not needed.

Technical Details Collected

Ordinary server, analytics, and advertising systems may receive technical details whenever a page loads. These details help measure traffic and diagnose how the site works. They can include:

  • The visitor's Internet Protocol address
  • The browser name and version
  • The device category and operating system
  • The pages viewed and time spent on them
  • The referring website, when one is reported
  • The date and time of the request

Cookie Controls

Cookies help us understand how people move through the site and how services perform. A browser can reject or delete cookies through its settings. Blocking them may cause some tools, preferences, or page features to work differently.

How Information Helps

We use the information described above only to operate, assess, and support the site and the services presented through it. Those uses include:

  • Keeping pages available and responsive
  • Sending search requests to the correct partner service
  • Learning which pages visitors find useful
  • Finding, testing, and correcting technical problems
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests

Policies on Outside Sites

Links may lead to Washington County release sources, sheriff or corrections pages, Mississippi government portals, and third-party search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the outside site's privacy policy and data practices control. Washington County Released Inmates does not set those rules or control how the destination collects information.

Some advertising partners may use their own systems to recognize activity across different websites and select targeted ads. Any such cross-site tracking occurs through the partner's technology, not through a visitor profile maintained by this site. The partner's notice explains its controls and opt-out choices.

Parties That May Receive Data

We do not sell personal information. Limited data may reach service providers that perform the functions described in this notice or a public authority acting under valid legal process. Those recipients may include:

  • Search partners that process a submitted query
  • Analytics providers that measure site use
  • Advertising networks that deliver or assess ads
  • Law-enforcement agencies or government bodies acting under a valid legal order

Reasonable Security Measures

We use standard administrative and technical practices intended to protect information in our control. No website, network, storage service, or Internet transmission can be guaranteed fully secure. We therefore cannot promise that a breach, loss, unauthorized access, or misuse will never occur.

Visitors Under Eighteen

The site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted personal information may use the Contacts page to request review and deletion.

Your Privacy Choices

Subject to the information we hold and any applicable Mississippi or federal requirements, a visitor may ask us to take the following actions:

  • Provide a copy of personal data held about the requester
  • Correct personal information that is inaccurate
  • Delete personal information where the request applies
  • Stop or opt out of certain processing where that choice is available

Notice Revisions

We may revise this privacy notice when our practices or services change. The updated language will appear on this page with a new effective date. Continued use after a revision means the current posted notice applies.
